Angeles City to honor late Kapampangan artist

The Museo Ning Angeles will exhibit the works of the late Kapampangan painter Perfecto Mercado on May 27 until June 10, 2011.

The exhibit was organized by family and friends as a tribute for the late surreal artist who died late last month.

The tribute exhibit is dubbed “Paninap: A Tribute to the Dreamscapist Perfecto S. Mercado.”

Mercado is recognized as among the most senior contemporary painters in the local provincial scene. He also had established a name for himself among artists in Metro Manila.

Some of his works have found their way into collections of big universities and schools in Pampanga, Angeles City and Manila. Some also were bought by private collectors.
